Brassfield Estate Winery, where the event is being held, will have picnic lunches available for purchase.

“The Lake County Winery Association is thrilled that so many folks want to come out taste some of the best wines of Lake County,” adds Sprague. “Lake County is a terrific wine region.”

Wine Competition Announced for Red, White & Blues 2017

June 22, 2017

Lake County wine professionals gathered in mid-June at Gregory Graham Wines in the Red Hills to blind test 91 Lake County wines, submitted by local wineries. The goal of the tasting was to choose the top Lake County wines to compete in the people’s choice competition of Red, White & Blues being hosted by the Lake County Winery Association (LCWA), and being held at Brassfield Estate Winery in Clearlake Oaks on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

Red, White & Blues is a new twist on an old favorite,” says LCWA Chairperson, Raven Sprague of Steele Wines. “The people’s choice blind-tasting is being inserted in a 4th of July weekend holiday event, complete with a barbecue provided by Rosey Cooks, and music provided by Blues Farm. We’re hoping to capture some of the out-of-town holiday visitors to increase the exposure of Lake County wines.”

Guests at the event have the opportunity to blind taste 35 Lake County wines in 11 categories, and vote for their favorite wine in each category.

2. Chardonnay
3. Other Whites
4. Rosé
5. Cabernet Sauvignon
6. Lighter Reds
7. Bold Reds

9. Red Blends
10. Dessert
11. Port

Check-in Locations and Early Bird Check-in Hours

May 16, 2017

The year the LCWA is requiring that all Wine Adventure 2017 guests check in at one of the five (5) starting points to help get your adventure off to a quicker start.

Check-in and day of ticket purchases are a highly administrative process. Therefore, the five (5) starting check-in locations have extra supplies, staff and equipment to make the process more efficient. They’re going to be open for extended “Early Bird” hours so folks can check in before Wine Adventure officially starts at 11 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

This will allow non-starting location wineries to concentrate on providing the best customer service to their guests. Instead of focusing on checking in folks and selling tickets, non-starting locations can focus on pouring wines, serving food, answering questions and making sure their guests are satisfied.Jed Steele

Check-in locations and early bird hours are:

  1. Boatique – Kelseyville, Red Hills – Early Bird Check-in hours: Friday 11 am – 5 pm, and starting at 10:30 am on Saturday.
