Dear Members,
Since many of our guests are buying their tickets last minute I will be e-mailing a hard copy by 8:00AM Saturday morning. Tickets bought the day of are $35. Instructions for Checking-In: Checking-in guests is the same procedure as Wine Adventure. Many of you have the Evenbrite Organizer on your phones or computers. Installing the app will make checking-in guests much easier. On the Eventbrite app there is a ‘Check In’ tab at the bottom. This will bring up a list of the pre-sale tickets in alphabetical order, simply swipe or click on the name. Verify they are over 21 and give the guest their wrist band, glass and wine bag. Day of ticket sales can be done on the Eventbrite Organizer as well. Simply tap the "Sell" and choose "Cash" or "Credit", and enter their credit card information. If you run out of Check-In items for guests (wristband, glass, and bag) please do not turn the guests away and serve them with a glass of your own. Notify the guests they can pick up their Check-In items at the next winery and keep your glasses. I will be driving around to different wineries so please notify if me you are running out of Check-In items. In Settings, choose "General", "Name Device", and put your winery name (i.e. Olof Cellars 1 is Olof Cellars) this way we can track which wineries our guests started at. If you need help please contact Helena (707) 357-5237 or Cindi (707) 391-7947.

Good to hear from you, a lot has been going on.
The Carriage House is a new member and needs to be added on for Lodging. It's a beautiful bed and breakfast in Lakeport. I have been approaching many local businesses to join the association, all of them have an application and are saying yes... yet I am still waiting on checks to be mailed in. In regards to marketing for Barrels & Verticals we are being advertised with the Lake County Bloom, Lake County News, Facebook (targeted to San Francisco and Sacramento), a banner is hung up on HWY 29 in front of Fults Family Vineyards and another by the Visitor's Center in Lakeport. I'm also picking up a huge street banner from Ukiah Signs on Thursday and we have it reserved for two weeks in February to be up on Main Street Lakeport, 40+ Barrels & Verticals posters have been given to business owners all over Lake County to display (I personally have visited each business and asked them to put up the our event poster all of them have said yes but getting them to put it up is another matter), our event bookmark in the 2019 Destinations has just been released, and I'm in negotiations with Sonoma Media and The Record Bee for more print ads and digital marketing. Sonoma Media will be attending our Wine Adventure meeting at Boatique Winery on February 12th to give a presentation. I wrote two press releases about Lake County wines in the SF Chronicle Wine competition and it peaked a lot of interest with the editor of the Record Bee so he assigned one of his reporters to do a full coverage story which was on the front page of the Record Bee this past Saturday. I got him to honor my request and he put a plug in about Barrels & Verticals. The other press release was about the installation of our new Board of Directors which the Record Bee editor said he would publish next week but he is going to change the date. I have emails through Constant Contact promoting Barrels & Verticals that are scheduled to go out until Barrels & Verticals. After that the e-mail campaign will be focused on Wine Adventure. Tuesday and Wednesday of this week I will be attending the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium with the Winegrape Commission and will be promoting Barrels & Verticals along with the Lake County wine region. I also got a table comped for the SF Chronicle Public Tasting on February 16th and will push our events more. Cindi mentioned that I look into PulsePoint which Jill used for marketing. I am beginning to think they are no longer in business. The website is active and I have called the San Francisco office twice but each time it goes to a personal voicemail. I have not had any response from them. Historically the analytics for Eventbrite show that the most ticket sales we get for all of our past events are a few days before the event which is beyond nerve wracking... for Barrels & Verticals 51 tickets have been sold, each day more tickets are sold. Wine Adventure is at 38 tickets and everything I am currently doing marketing related for Barrels & Verticals is in contract to continue for Wine Adventure. I have a letter approved by Cindi asking local businesses to sponsor Wine Adventure which is going out next week. Please see the attached file. I was recently appointed by the President of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce to serve on the Board of Directors for one year. I was also asked to be on the Core Committee for the Lake County Certified Tourism Ambassador program and 1Team1Dream by Maryann Schmid of the Lodge at Blue Lakes and Olga Steele, both of which I agreed to. I have been attending the Lake County Tourism Improvement District meetings, the Tourism Lake County meetings, and the Lake County Economic Development Corporation meetings. I will add all of the Weebly e-mail captures to the active Constant Contact list, thank you. If you have any other questions please let me know. |
