The 30th Annual Kelseyville Pear Festival is happening on Saturday, September 30th!

Lake County is one of the top pear producers in the country and every year, historic Kelseyville pulls out all the stops to celebrate its other signature fruit. (Sorry, grapes, but you have to step aside for a weekend…)

First held in 1993, the Kelseyville Pear Festival has grown to draw thousands of visitors every year. Vendors, eateries, and wineries dot Main Street, offering up an array of locally created treats. It’s a time to support the agricultural heritage of Lake County and to share the bounty it produces.

This year, Main Street will be bustling with live music and dancers on three separate stages, over 100 arts and food vendors, and other special exhibits throughout town from 7am to 4pm. Get there early to start your day exploring around Mount Konocti, the volcanic mountain looming beside Kelseyville that boasts stunning views. Replenish with a hearty Pancake Breakfast at the FireHouse before enjoying the Grand Parade down Main Street. Check out Lake County agricultural history with an Antique Tractor & Gas Engine exhibit. Let the kids burn off some energy at an interactive Kids’ Town while you volunteer your expertise at the Dessert Contest. And, since Lake County is a haven for creatives, check out the Fine Art Show during the Pear Festival to experience some stunning works by local artists.

While you’re enjoying Kelseyville, we recommend checking out a few of the local wineries! (Pears are great but wine always wins in our book!) Located in Kelseyville is a handful of wineries such as Smiling Dog Ranch, Fore Family Vineyards and Chacewater Winery & Olive Mill. These wineries are open for tastings over the weekend and will be a great way to enhance your Pear Festival experience.

The Kelseyville Pear Festival is one of the best events of the year, and it’s one you don’t want to miss!
